RegistryCleaners
Keeping a Computer Fast While Avoiding Windows Errors

About Registry Cleaning:

Every time you download a software, game, or other programs from the Intranet you're causing your PC to run slow.  When installing anything on your PC, it's all stored in the windows registry.  The Windows registry is a database which stores settings and options for Microsoft Windows operating systems.  This registry contains information and settings for hardware, operating system software, most non-operating system software and per-user settings.  By cleaning the registry the computer runs like new again.  Registry errors can typically lead to slow and unpredictable computer operations.  These errors can cause crashes for no reason or a computer will refuse to start up.  Imagine a computer storing trash up and there is no way of dumping it.  That is what happens without a registry cleaner.  Old unused trash accumulates and a computer has to sift through the garbage trying to separate the good from the junk.  Basically put, unused junk files are a waste and will not only bog a computer down it can cause malfunctions or difficult starts or even impossible booting.  You need your computer up and running to be able to remove all the garbage.  If your computer can't start you will probably have to take it to a repair shop to have expensive diagnostic software ran on it.
What IBM doesn't tell you about their computers when purchasing them is they are not complete.  Having never had the money to upgrade to a Macintosh I know they have less erroneous errors.  Mac users tend to use a different vocabulary when operating their computers rather than references of the computer as the evil thing (or worse in my case).  Macintosh's have a more stable platform and the fact most Mac users are not installing and un-installing software and everything is pretty much standard.  IBM is a more competitive marketplace with much more variety however there is a trade off for variety and less cost.  One is, you don't often have a professionally endorsed product.  Next is, since there are so many products to chose from and so many brands of computers it is hard to get a perfectly compatible program as well as hardware.  What no computer store, except perhaps a repair shop, (and I doubt they will tell you either simply because it opposes their business) tells you is you need a lot of complimentary software on their machines.  This includes the lists of anti-spyware, anti-virus, and privacy controls and since we are speaking of registry cleaners a registry cleaner is a must.

Just because your PC hasn't crashed yet doesn't mean you are not doomed heading for a crash.  When computers crash they typically crash hard costing more money, not to mention the loss of data, than preventative maintenance would have solved in the first place.  Computers come relatively inexpensive and a smart user will purchase the additional software needed to maintain the machine.  Your computer may not display any registry problems but this doesn't mean they are lurking inside your computer ready to fail right in the middle of some big report.  Registry problems could be in the making having not done their full damage yet.  These problems can be present waiting to cause problems yet lying dormant for a time.

The Windows Registry is a database that stores critical information and settings for all the hardware, software, users, and preferences on your Windows PC.  Over a period of time the registry will grow and become corrupted as software is added and removed from your computer.  Word of caution here is, not to continually install and un-install software unless you absolutely have to.  People using computers for games may install and un-install a lot of software and I don't recommend doing this.  I have often told customers if you insist on doing this have a computer for recreation use and one for professional use.  You can even slave the two desktop towers to run on one mouse, one keyboard and one monitor using a special cable.  This way you don't need two monitors which are often sold separately.  If you can only afford one computer be careful operating it since is a work tool and you never know when you will really need it.  Rather than having to be super cautious about running a computer get a good registry cleaner.  Hewlett Packard recommended the following registry cleaner:

Hewlett Packard recommends the following driver repair program:

http://www.driverdetective.com/   I did not try this one. Instead I used Driver Robot also recommended by Hewlett Packard.  It did not work either.  I tried RegCure's driver program which I had no success with.  It could be my computer is infected deep within and I need to scan it but nothing is working to date but it doesn't surprise me because it was all free ware.

Driver Robot-  This one was supposedly recommended by Hewlett Packard but keep in mind the sneakiness of affiliates.  They will sell you garbage just to make money won't refund you and in the end a fool ["person who didn't come here first"] just lost their money.  There is no link to driver robot because it promises the world but gives you nothing.  Drivers are the hardest issues and unless I have another problem keeping them from fixing then these programs have drained my wallet and got me nowhere.  In the end my drivers were only fixed by upgrading to Windows 7.

Though I haven't officially tried it by looking up Registry Winner under Google there are two sites that speak against it.  It is important before the purchase of any product to look and see if there are any bad comments about that particular product.  If there is keep in mind it could also be a competitor badmouthing a good product in hopes to sell their own.

Often you can make a free download for a system registry mechanic of some sort.  Typically the downloaded software will perform a certain number of fixes, (almost none compared to the amount of problems they find) until you pay for a license for the product.  Once the trial version is active, by purchasing a license, it corrects all errors.  Note some on-line programs may be better deals since you are not paying the extra fees for a middle man, as well as shipping and handling, tax and other expenses.  On the other hand sometimes you may need that disk if you can't get the intranet to work properly which is a problem I just experienced.  Be sure to save and print out all associated emails with the purchased product.  In the case you ever have a system crash you shouldn't have to purchase the product again.  Anyone who has ever had boot errors knows what I am talking about.  You can lose what you just downloaded due to having to go back in the boot history which is an article on itself.  Registry error programs are best at what they do.  The problem with some software is that when bundled, though they may do a lot, but they don't do anyone thing well.  Cheapest is not always the best especially when it comes to computer repair shops.  A little preventative maintenance goes a long ways.  People know to have the oil changed and tires rotated on their car, but not everyone knows what a complex device a computer is or how to properly maintain it.  Even Macintosh's sometimes require extra software to fix certain glitches as they are not entirely immune to problems.  Make sure to purchase programs like these before a major problem arises.  It is best to purchase maintenance software right when you buy a new computer.  It only takes one bad virus or one bad registry error to bring your machine to a repair shop.  Warranties may not cover software errors so research your new computer carefully before you purchase it.  Maintenance software such as registry cleaners can save your whole hard drive from being wiped clean as well as save yourself an enormous headache down the road.  Good software will compliment one another and save important data from loss or corruption.  In addition to the best protective software it is always best to make disk backups.  Keep in mind if there are computer related problems, problems can be transferred even to a disk, flash drive, micro SD or even a backup hard drive.

When fixing a computer be sure to get what protective software works best especially if you are on a limited budget trying to fix a problem.  You might get a registry cleaner only to find out what you really needed was a driver solution program.  Be sure to ask good questions to computer technicians and don't be afraid to ask more than one specialist because often you will hear different answers.  While curing registry problems always helps, it may not be the solution to unresponsive USB ports.  A little market research is best.  Make sure you buy a good working program and not trial version.  Trial programs, if they do work out are best for scanning for computer problems, but you have to buy the license to get the programs to fix problems.

Other problems can arise including dust and smoke.  Even the best of the best in protective software cannot prevent dust from entering your computer.  The fan or fans run continually sucking in what ever dust or smoke is in the house.  I recommend keeping a low dust environment by continually cleaning the house.  Also if you smoke you should not do it near a  computer.  Small particulates can enter into the hard drive and scratch the surface of the drive creating a bad sector at best but in reality can destroy a hard drive.  Dust and smoke are enemies to computers.  Keep carpets clean and dust frequently.  Maintain your computer by carefully removing the cover and blowing it out with a special computer “canned air.”  When doing so make sure not to touch anything inside not unless you know what you are doing.  Even pointing to an object can cause a spark from static electricity causing irreparable harm.  If you are not confident in doing this take it to a repair shop for cleaning.

Do some careful market research before buying a registry cleaner.  Several of them are scams so make sure you get what you pay for.  Also some registry cleaners can be used on up to three computers however, don't let this be the key selling point.  Performance is key, and though you can have master resale rights or however the package is put together it doesn't mean a registry cleaner works.

Five registry cleaners are reviewed which starts at the first being RegCure ranked  the best.  Next is Registry Mechanic which is ranked very good and even featured on the Dr. Phil show.  Registry Smart is ranked as good.  Below that on the scale is Registry Fix also rated good.  Error Nuker comes on the bottom of the list but is also rated good.  For ease of use and quality RegCure is best.  RegCure is said to get your computer running quickly and smoothly in minutes.  For URL's to each of the sites click on each hyperlink below.

In summary make sure you read all associated literature in operating any type of registry software.  Usually there is an attached Adobe ReadMe file.  There are usually steps to take to either automate the programs or to manually operate the programs.  Remember you can keep your computer away from the nearest repair shop by following a few simple steps and paying some extra cash for protective software such as a registry cleaner.  Take some advice from an old school computer user.  Buy a registry cleaner now or pay more later.

Keep in mind often a penny saved on less expensive software usually means there is less performance and may not be enough to fix your problem.  Computers that have multiple problems often need multiple cures.  Computers are vulnerable to serious problems and can be expensive to remedy.  However the price gets higher when you loss important data, software and more.  If two or more people buy a disk with multiple user rights for it make sure each software owner has the codes written down somewhere safe.  Also make sure you don't lose valuable “contact us” information for the company in case a problem arises down the road.

Having multiple repair software is like going to the hospital and having several professionals work on you at the same time.  Just as each doctor has a certain profession each cure whether it is a registry cleaner, anti-spyware, anti-virus, privacy controller, or a driver solution program all work together fixing a computer.  Make sure you are well prepared since there are so many areas a problem can arise.  By keeping a computer maintained it is a whole lot easier than letting problems add up and then fixing them just as you are ready to have a crash.  If the computer is very unstable you may have to take it to a repair shop as it may be hard to even download computer repair software.  Plan for the worst by buying repair software ahead of time even for a new computer.  Also don't trust used computers unless they have been reconditioned by a professional.  You may be buying into someone else's problems.  Just remember often what is cheap is not always a bargain.
